Pharmacology:

Merasingi, Karela, Tarwara, Anula, Neem, Gulancha are useful in the treatment of Diabetes. Jamun has anti-diabetic action and phenolic substances in it checks the pathological conversion of Starch into sugar and also decreases the quantity of sugar in urine and allays the thirst of diabetes. Methi exerts anti-diabetic effect and can be used in combination with insulin. Kovai is an indegenous substitute for insulin and has the remarkable effect to sugar reducing capacity

Indications: Maturity onset non isulin dependent diabetis mellitus.
Therapeutic use: Mersina can be safely prescribed in the dosage range for the effective control of maturity onset non isulin dependent diabetis mellitus, especially useful to patients with body weight above normal range.
Contra-indications:

Mersina is not recommended to juvenile diabetes, ketosis, diabetes associated with carbuncle, severe hyperglycemia during pregnancy and lactation.
