Ferrous
Fumarate is one of the most stable , least toxic and easily assimilable
salts of iron. It is available in the form of tablets each containing
200 mg. of Ferrous Fumarate I.P. equivalent to about 65 mg. of elemental
iron. |

| Indications: |
For
the routine treatment of iron deficiency anaemias arising from the
excessive loss of blood in chronic haemorrhages like piles, hookworm
infestation, hematemesis or hemoptysis or deficient intake of iron
in diet, for growing children and premature babies to put on weight;
to maintain hemoglobin level in old age and convalescence. In all
cases the primary cause of anaemia should be corrected as otherwise
it will reappear on the stoppage of the drug. |
| Application: |
Adults
: 1 to 3 tablets per day after food or as directed by the physician.
Children : 1/2 to 1 tablet after food.
Contra-indications : Peptic ulcer, malabsorption syndrome
and intolerence. |
