| Pharmacology: |
Huma relaxes the bronchial muscle, and is used
in the prevention or to cut short an attack of bronchial asthma.
Its action is due to its alkaloid, Ephedrine. Vasaka is
a very popular expectorant, used in acute and chronic bronchitis.
It also liquefies the Sputum. Nala is an anti-spasmodic
expectorant mainly used to reduce bronchospasm during an attack. Dudhi has a depressant action on the cough centre, but relaxes
the bronchi. Particularly effective in children's cough. Balatagra is a stimulant antispasmodic and Hypnotic. Kakarasinghi is useful in cough, Phthisis, Asthma and conditions of respiratory tract. Kantakari is useful in Cough and Asthma |
| Indications:

- To prevent an attack of asthma.
- Treatment of asthma, Chronic cough, cough following infection of the respiratory track, common cold, bronchitis, etc.
